I just had to do it...

As I think blogging is a two way street I like to make it easy for people to post comments on my blog.

Lately the number of spam comments that are getting through and being published has skyrocketed. This ruins the flow of conversations that sometimes happen on a post so I have changed my settings to only allow it easy to comment on posts less than two days old. For comments posted after this period I will have to approve them.

I will see if this works. If the spammers continue to get through I will have to turn moderation on for all comments - something I don't want to do.

  1. Just recently the amount of spam has been dreadful, I was beginning to think it was just me! Until I looked at my reader. For one blog for the period of 24 Sep until 1 Dec I downloaded 1,000 posts & comments. I know shocking. Whats more shocking is that 874 were spam comments. Sadly, the blog is still be written & no precaution is being taken to try & deal with th spamming.

way during which you say it. You make it enjoyable
and you still care for to keep it wise. I can't wait to read much more from you. That is actually a wonderful web site.

  3. I now moderate all comments (with email notifications). It looks as though you will have to do so too (or try setting it at 'one day'). As I write this, the last comment here (after Julie's) was from an anonymous spammer. You may have deleted it by the time my comment is published - unless you are on the other side of the world and asleep!

I'd love to hear what you have to say so I encourage you to say G'day in comments on my posts.

Sorry I have turned word verification on but I am just getting too much spam to allow comments without this feature.
