Report from "The Missed Bus Trip"

All is not lost. Even though I missed the bus for yesterday's tour of the Distribution and Print Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City I have been able to hear and read about it from those who went on the tour.

Amy Coffin from We Tree blog has written an excellent account of the excursion. "Housed in this building are the microfilms that are sent to local Family History Centers when requested. They also store and ship the items..... continued in Amy's post. Please read on at Amy's blog.

  1. Thank you for the mention! I will add for your Aussie readers that I was told Australia has one of these distribution centers as well, though it may not be the exact system. I don't know.

David Rencher of FamilySearch talked about the *old* building and microfilm delivery system. They used to ship films to Australia and other far away places by ship. With regulations of other countries, it could take up to 10 months to get film! So glad technology has advanced since then.
